Mhadzi Primary School Teachers |
Working
in collaboration with Jackson Makwetta Foundation, Hope 631 recently had an
opportunity to introduce the culture of honor to the teachers of Mhadzi
Primary school in Njombe region by honoring all the teachers with a gift of appreciation
for their hard work and dedication to the children in their communities.
It was a surprising and humbling experience for both the teachers and students as they
have never been honored in their entire history of teaching. "This experience
has taught me how important it is to find ways to praise, honor and encourage ourselves
and others to see the best in people," said Dr. Grace Kinuthia. "We should challenge ourselves daily to
think of ways to show honor to others. Ask yourself, when was the last time you
honored someone? When did you last thank, call or write a letter to show them
how much you appreciate them or to show them some respect? This world can be
such a better place if we all follow the principle of honor. We need to honor
and respect everyone, even those we think don’t deserve it."

In a letter to the teachers of Mhadzi, Dr. Grace Kinuthia stated that teaching is not an easy profession and is not done for the money. Most people who are teachers became teachers because it’s God’s call upon their lives to be a blessing and make a difference in the lives of children or the people they teach. With the hard work they do everyday, they deserve to be respected, valued, and supported. Dr. Grace also thanked the teachers and encouraged them to continue doing their best to build a better future for the children.
